Dr. Mariana Alves is a Family Medicine Specialist with 10 years of postgraduate medical experience, including five years practising as a specialist. She provides comprehensive, patient-centred primary healthcare, with a strong focus on prevention, early diagnosis, long-term disease management, and personalised care for patients of all ages.

Dr. Alves obtained her Master’s Degree in Medicine from the University of Lisbon, Portugal, and completed her specialisation in General and Family Medicine in Portugal. She also completed a Specialisation Course in Geriatrics at the University of Porto, Portugal. She is currently enrolled in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Diploma programme at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.

Throughout her career, Dr. Alves has developed extensive experience in managing acute and chronic medical conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidaemia. Her areas of interest also include preventive medicine, women’s health, menopause and perimenopause care, child health, mental health in primary care, lifestyle medicine, and the coordination of care across different medical specialties.

Dr. Alves has also contributed to medical education by supervising medical students and Family Medicine residents during their clinical training. She has presented and published several scientific works, including award-winning research presentations.

Prior to joining HealthPlus, Dr. Alves worked as a Family Medicine Specialist at BSK Medical Centre in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
